Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Bentley's custom coachbuilding division, Mulliner, has designed a unique key case to celebrate the brand's centenary. Made from Dark Stained Burr Walnut and Piano Black veneer, it includes a flying 'B' paperweight, a set of keys and a brochure featuring never-before-seen 1930 8 Litre imagery.

This is the ideal method to welcome a brand new owner of a vehicle.

Aesthetics

As a design-oriented company Bentley takes its aesthetics extremely seriously. It's evident in the exact location of its quilting the choice of leather sourced from by-products of cattle production, the timber from forests that are sustainably managed and the ingenious patterns that are etched on its levers. A car like the Continental GT W12 beckons as you take it in with its striking sculptural appeal and power with carefully selected lighting.

The Continental GT is the most sophisticated open-top Bentley ever designed. The rear tonneau on the Continental GT, for example included the largest piece ever of dark-stained Burr Walnut veneer that was book-matched. Similarly, the electrically-operated glass sunroof and champagne cooler that incorporated hand-blown and hand-cut lead crystal bottles marked a new benchmark in luxury and innovation.

It is this bespoke design, craftsmanship and attention to detail that have established Bentley as the world's most desirable automotive brand. The company continues to push the limits with the latest technology and manufacturing techniques, such as the introduction of an instrument cluster with digital technology, an electric tilt-opening rear glass sunroof, a custom-designed docking station for Apple iPads, and electrochromic  smart glass that can be changed from opaque to transparent with the push of the button.

Bentley celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2019 a century after it was founded. The marque, now owned by Volkswagen on its own after years of conflict with BMW and BMW, had planned a number of special events and launches to commemorate this significant occasion. The company planned a range of special events and launches to celebrate the occasion before pandemic planning became a priority.

Design

Bentley is a luxury car maker that makes ostentatious and luxurious cars. However, even the keys make a statement.  bently key  is made of sterling silver. It features the large 'B' symbol which lets everyone know that you're a Bentley. The key is also engraved with the dates 1919 and 2019, to mark the company’s centenary.

Bentley Mulliner has redesigned and created the Mulsanne to become the ultimate Grand Touring vehicle. It features two opposing pairs of rear seats that were inspired by luxury private aviation offering passengers unbeatable comfort and privacy. The custom heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system was designed to provide each passenger with the perfect climate control setting.

In addition to a set of exquisitely executed styling tweaks The Mulsanne is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.75-litre W12 engine that produces 560bhp and 479lbft of torque. This amazing power is coupled with a new suspension that offers Bentley's signature smooth ride.

In celebration of its Centenary, Bentley introduced a bespoke specification known as the Centenary Specification for cars that were built in 2019. The cabin is equipped with cross-stitching and contrast stitching in Centenary Gold throughout. The Bentley Wings on the headrests and seats are stitched in Centenary Gold, adding to the sense of celebration.  bentley arnage key fob  bespoke Bentley key case is included in the Centenary Specification, making the Bentley experience all-inclusive.

Function

The Bentley Mulsanne Key comes with two buttons one of which opens the trunk, and another which starts the vehicle. It also has a button to activate the parking break. There is a knob to fold and unfold the mirrors while parked in tight areas. This feature makes it easier to get in and out of your vehicle.

Each key takes two days to create. The key is cut by hand, shaped, stitched after which it is sealed and polished to achieve a high-quality result. It is strong compact and fits the Bentley key perfectly. Its design is akin to the Volkswagen Phaeton large car's key however it feels heavier and has a more premium feel.

It also has Secure-A-Key which can help prevent theft of keys without keypads. This device is placed inside the remote-control fob, and is disabled if the key is not used for a few minutes. It prevents thieves from transmitting the key's frequency to other devices which can be used to unlock and start the vehicle.

Bentley's distinctive design is a reflection of the values of the company, which include fine craftsmanship, engineering expertise and modern technology. Over 4,000 people work at the Crewe headquarters, where they are responsible for the development, design and production of Bentley automobiles. They employ skills handed down through generations and apply them to the latest in technology in the automotive industry. This is a hallmark of British manufacturing at its best.

Personalisation

Bentley's bespoke division, Mulliner, allows customers to design their own vehicle. Customers sit at a set of images, referred to "mood stations" and pick a collection of photos - from scenic landscapes to sporting events that inspire them to design their own. Each time a selection is made the pattern that emerges will reveal the model preference for color, style and design for the personalized Bentley.

bentley keys  resulting configuration is then loaded onto individual R.F.I.D.-enabled keys which are presented to guests in a custom-made key case. Keys can be outfitted with Bentley Muliner Personalised welcome lamps that illuminate the pathway of the entrance door, and display the owner's logo or name as they approach the car.

Bentley estimates that it takes around 500 man hours to design and assemble the average Mulsanne. The refusal to embrace modern technology is the main factor to this time-consuming task. Instead of using a machine to place the perfectly matched cross-stitched leather seats workers at the Crewe factory do it by hand. Instead of letting the car's built in sensors guide it to parallel and perpendicular parking spots, drivers have to do it by hand.

During the event, Bentley showcased its Mulliner personalization capabilities with one particular example of the Mulsanne W.O. Edition, which pays tribute to the man who founded the company, William Osler Bentley. The 100 limited edition cars include the key, which displays the 1930 8 Litre crankshaft.
